Julie Chen Moonves, who was one the original hosts and moderators for The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winning talk show), returned August 5 for the 22nd episode. Then it was when she began writing that her real passion emerged. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show has earned her another Emmy. The Talk is a show which analyzes current affairs by having five hosts. Chen Moonves co-hosted CBS Newsthe weekday morning show The Early Show in 2002 as well as in 2010, before becoming host of the talk show. Her previous roles included anchoring CBS Morning News and The Early Show. She was dispatched to Cairo in the aftermath of 9/11, and she conducted an exclusive and riveting interview with the father of the main terrorist who took over the world. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. In addition, she met with former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program that profiled celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves reported as anchor and reporter for WCBS-TV, a CBS-owned station located in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). She worked as a producer for ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the affiliate news service of the network in the late 1990s, as well as an office assistant for ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her senior year at University of Southern California. Her first position in broadcasting was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline along with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalists' heroes. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel collaborated on Anatomy of a Riot - a primetime television special which won the Columbia du-Pont award - which examined the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
